Recycled Type 1
Supplying the construction and utility industry with a high quality, versatile, recycled sub-base material.
Identifying, researching and developing recycled building materials that have a positive impact on the environment is something that Mone Bros are constantly working towards. TYPE 1, was essentially born from a growing need from customers, mainly in the construction and utility sectors, to use recycled materials. This need was supported by a commitment from senior management to reduce the amount of materials sent to landfill and a desire to recycle their collected waste in a more efficient manner.
Mone Bros TYPE 1 is essentially a high quality and very versatile recycled sub-base material. Our TYPE 1 is ‘Adoptable’, which means that it can be used in any highway, footpath, cycleway or car park, up to the underside of the tarmacadam. In March 2009, Mone Bros became the first organisation in Yorkshire to produce a recycled TYPE1 to clause 803 with YHAUC approval (Yorkshire Highways Authorities Utilities Committee).
TYPE 1 is produced mainly from concrete and tarmac that has been recycled from construction sites throughout Yorkshire. The collected materials are then selected, crushed and screened at our recycling depots at Whitehall and Bramhope.
How is Type 1 Produced?
In line with the YHAUC accreditation, Mone Bros TYPE 1 is subjected to stringent weekly tests from ESG (Environmental Scientifics Group), an approved YHAUC assessor. A service level agreement is in place between all three parties detailing the frequency and testing process. To ensure complete transparency, all test results are posted on the YHAUC website at www.yhauc.org.uk.
The recycled TYPE 1 is also produced in accordance with WRAP protocol. All documentation and certificates can be supplied upon your request. Both the Mone Bros senior management team and all site managers have received comprehensive training on all technical aspects of recycled TYPE 1. The YHAUC approval and resulting success of Mone Bros TYPE 1 is best demonstrated by its growing number of clients, predominantly within the Utility, Construction and Highway Authority Market.
