Construction sector comes out of recession
We at Mone Bros are delighted to finally say that the UK’s construction sector has finally climbed out of recession towards the end of 2017 thanks to the surge in house building.
The injected optimism has come from the rise in the residential construction, which had previously been at a five year low. Although it does seem like the commercial and civil engineering sectors seem to be lagging slightly behind, it is great to start to get some more positive news about an industry that we champion as being one of the best in the UK for talent and forward-thinking resolutions.
According to the purchasing managers’ index, an influential private sector survey which is compiled by the HIS Markit, the construction industry rose to 53.1 in November, up from 50.3 in October 2017. Any score above 50 is seen as showcasing growth- finally moving the construction industry from stagnation. This is a really positive improvement to say that in September 2017 we were at 48.1.
