Leeds announces plans to double the size of the city centre

Leeds City Council announced last week that they plan to double the size of the city centre with the development of 16,500 new homes, which will be the country’s largest sustainable housing development to date.

Speaking at the renowned property event MIPIM, the council laid out their plans for the regeneration of South Bank Leeds with the construction of a massive 8,000 homes, which in turn will double the size and economic output of the city. In total, this investment should create more than 35,000 local jobs- which is a massive bonus for the region.

A big part of the project is construction company CEG who announced their plans to build a £350m residential building- Yorkshire’s largest, which will create 750 homes, offices, shops, bars and restaurants.

Not only that, but a lot of Leeds construction projects look to Mone Bros for our recycling services.
