France welcomes the world’s first ever recycled road

History has been made across the channel as the French construction industry has created the world’s first ever road made from recycled material. A new stretch of road on the A10 motorway between Pons and Saint-Aubin has been created from 100% recycled material in an attempt to reduce carbon footprints and help the environment.

History has been made across the channel as the French construction industry has created the world’s first ever road made from recycled material. A new stretch of road on the A10 motorway between Pons and Saint-Aubin has been created from 100% recycled material in an attempt to reduce carbon footprints and help the environment.

Created by Eurovia and Vinci Autoroutes, the road has been made from recycled materials from older roads in the country and was a 2-year project in the making. Hopefully this ground-breaking creation will lend itself to construction projects around the world, pushing further the joint attempt to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from countries globally.

Recycled materials have long been used in construction projects from all sizes, with Mone Bros being one of the leaders in the field in the UK. Serving Yorkshire and the North of England, our recycled aggregates can be used in a variety of projects – from roads to buildings.

Such advantages of recycled aggregates include:

  • It’s much more cost effective to use
  • It’s much better for the environment
  • It fulfils a lot of companies CSR policies
  • Recycled aggregates are still as high in quality and suitable for all construction projects

The use of recycled aggregates in construction is gradually on the up and up, although we still know there is some way to go in convincing companies that these aggregates are still high in quality. It is our aim to ensure that all of our recycled aggregates meet industry standards and are specifically tailored for its application material.

If you would like to know more about recycled aggregates and how they could help your construction project, or if you would like to know more about the services we offer, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Yorkshire based team on 0113 252 3636.
